I'm writing you this letter because I know that you don't really like him (ou her si c'est une fille) but that's not a reason to fight with someone!
I've known you for a while now, and I know that you are a good person.
I really think you should make up with (nom du camarade).
I also think you should get to know him (or her) better, I really think it's only a matter of personal opinion and that you'll actually like (nom du camarade) a lot more once you get to know him.
